Familiarize yourself with the magazine and the kind of writing they publish before you submit to Brick. Reading a few issues of the magazine is the best way to determine whether your work matches their style.
Their focus is literary non-fiction, and they’re looking for the most invigorating and challenging literary essays, interviews, memoirs, travelogues, belles lettres, and unusual musings they can get our hands on.
Brick accepts unsolicited manuscripts of non-fiction only. Submissions must be previously unpublished. They accept simultaneous submissions, but please let them know immediately if your manuscript is accepted for publication elsewhere.
While Brick does not set a word limit for submissions, they prefer submissions of less than 3,000 words. Longer submissions will be considered only if they are of exceptional quality; they must earn their length.
